Business Matching Activity & Study Trip

  • Date 02 March 2016
  • Venue A.S. Louken Singapore

Together with our esteemed partner, Federation of Merchants Associations of Singapore (FMAS) and our Chinese counterparts, Altiply conducted a very successful business matching and study trip to Chengdu from 26th February to 2nd March 2016.

A total of 9 F&B brands championing Singapore F&B went on to meet members of the Chengdu F&B Association, potential franchisees as well as capital investors from the surrounds of Sichuan province. Prior advertising and information let out to the business community saw a good turnout of 200 people representing 50 companies.

The session started with sharing of the brands on stage and later, meetings and discussions with interested parties. There were also prior meetings set up for 1-to-1 business matching whereby advanced business meetings were made between investors/ potential franchisees with the Singapore brands before the trip. All these activities culminate on the 3rd day to visits to prospects’ outlets or simply meals to build relationships.

In the evening, there was also a social event involving meeting more members of the local F&B association who were unable to meet in the afternoon.

The Singapore brand owners had insightful learnings and seeing first-hand the malls and Chinese brands at the various commercial properties. They also met up with mall operators and had the opportunity to query on rentals and requirements. 2 closed door sessions with officers from IE Singapore also gave specific insights for our business owners from HR policies, to Singapore government support as well as tips for Singapore businesses intending to enter the Chengdu / Sichuan market.

The trip was a success as there were firm inquiries and ongoing negotiations for a few of the brands. A few prospects also made arrangements for visits to Singapore and the Sichuan TV crew came to Singapore for a special F&B program featuring the brands that went Chengdu.
